New "Skateparks"
Tom James sent me a few photos of a couple of skatepark projects he found going on it the Woolwich area in London. New skateparks are always good but it sucks when councils and community schemes are blagged to spend money on their products by so called ramp and skatepark builders who are just cashing in. The park still under construction is near the river, check out the 'spine', there's still a bigger quarter, mini ramp, pyramid and hip to go in.

Woolich / Arsenal skateprk

The other metal park is a community project but unfortuantely has a huge wall blocking the sun out so it will takes ages to dry out.

Epic Skatepark Tag Team Comp

Moto Magazine
4130 Publishing, home of Ride BMX, Dirt and Document magazines are expanding the range and bringing out a new magazine. Out around spring of next year will be a dedicated moto-cross magazine called MOTO.

Graeme Hardie sent this short video clip over and as it's kind of related to the moto-x magazine news I thought I'd post it.

Epic Jam - Saturday Jan 17th.

I've got a bit more info regarding the comp at Epic, as you can see the date has now been confirmed. Turn up when you want but the park will be open for bikes only after 7:00pm and is set to carry on till the last person leaves - all nighter then I suppose!
The main idea behind the jam is the Tag Team bowl comp? I think it'll be run as a 5 minute jam session but all the riders in each session will be team mates. Numbers per team will be 2 - 5.
The cost to ride is £5 or £3 if you enter.
Speak to Matt or Paul at the park (0121 442 2425) for further info, or you could try the boys at 202426 (0121 246 2426)who are backing the comp.
Bmx game
Check this out, you could easily spend hours on it even though it ain't Tony hawk!

Competition
Bit of a first for the site but we're having a go at running a competition, who knows, if it goes well it might become more of a regular feature. The competition is being run in conjunction with Loophole, who are donating the prizes. To find out more click on the animation in the feature section.
Reason - From Mal Hales
Recieved some info from Mal Hales, who used to run Derbyjam.co.uk and organise the Derby Skatepark Jams, about his latest project, a VCD 'Zine... "I have put a few words on the web at http://www.idechome.co.uk/malcolmhales/local/reason.htm and that kinda explains things"
Backyard Jam 2004
Next years round of Backyard Events kick off again at the Bournemouth International Centre on the 3rd and 4th of April.
Warrington Skatepark Photos
Follow the link from Black Country BMX for some photos of the new outdoor concrete park in Warrington, something we've got to have more of in this country.
Another Extreme website.
Having a look around the internet I thought I'd found another so called run of the mill extreme lifestyle web site. This one's a little different though. To get the best out of the site you need to be a member. To really get the best out of the site you need to be a paid up member (£5.95 P.A.).
It's got all you'd expect from some corporate bullshit site catering for everything from BMX to FMX and Surfing to Love and Lust! I found some video clips of Mirra winning X-games street and Hoffmans no nanded 900. What really sets this site apart is the friends section, where you too can meet like minded extreme sport fanatics. In this section is where you find all the internet whore's who's favorite pastime is not extreme (I hate that fucking word) sports but displaying all there private bits on t'internet. You only get to see this if you pay the money but sample pic's are available for the inquisitive.
I can't get me hat on. An adult meeting site thinly veiled as an extreme sports site. WTF.

Backyard Jam Derby Photos
Finally got the photos from the Backyard Jam at Derby up after scanning in something like 80 photos to make all the animated sequences. Click here or go through the Galleries menu. Didn't go to Board-x, so there'll be no photos from that event. Did hear a few things about it though, apparently the judging wasn't to hot, Kye Forte came 10th and Baz Keep something like 13th, even though he was doing ridiculously high 360's over the volcano to blowout landings. I also heard the course wasn't the best either, Kye actually got told not to sprocket stall one of the ramps incase he broke it!

Worcester News - From Eggy
There's going to be a free concrete park built in the new year about a mile up the road from the ramps. It promises to be completed by easter if you want to see the plans go to www.pyplc.co.uk not too sure if its bike friendly, spoke to the local copper whose behind it and he's concerned about bikes going around the park too fast!(ignorant). Also the BBC will be at the ramps fri 21st nov between 2&4 to do some filming for children in need so if you fancy being on tv make your way down.
later egg.

Camp Euro Extreme - Via Press Release
I would like you all to be the very first to know about Camp Euro Extreme. This will officially be launched in January and year one will open its doors to fifty people a week from June.

It is being constructed in Perth, Scotland and will be a residential camp for weeklong sessions and cater for people from all over the globe. We are building 20,000 sqft indoor, have a 14,000 sqft concrete bowl and Europe's biggest dirt trail and will continue building other radical attractions until our fingers bleed!

If you want to go to Woodward but don't fancy the trek or the price keep your eyes and ears open for Camp Euro Extreme.

If you want to know more about Camp Euro Extreme then call Ben or James on +441932 86 96 55
RNC via Loophhole
Additional to the Loophole products that were on the news page a couple of weeks ago, Neil also mentioned they are going to be distributing RNC Manufacturing products. Check out this chainring, Titanium, twice as hard and nearly double the strength of a 7075 sprocket, yet lighter.

Arty Types
For those arty types, there are a couple of cool exhibitions running. The crazy synchroballistic skateboarding photography by Angus Leadley Brown is showing at the Bartlett School of Architecture Lobby Gallery from November 10th to December 12th. Check out the website for full details. www.serratedimage.com

The other is an exhibition by SHEPARD FAIREY (Obey Giant), The show will run from the 12th November until Sunday December 7th, open daily. The exhibition will run for a total of 4 weeks at the 88B/Cide gallery in Waterloo. www.obeygiant.com

Finally, Steven Day over at www.forestofdeanbmx.com dropped a line metioning he's put together a 5 minute video from the Backyard Jam at Derby. You'll need Windows Media Player to check it out.
Derby Jam update
It looks as though another era of BMX is coming to a close soon. Mal, the guy behind the derbyjam website and annual jam has stated that the site is due to close it's doors for good on the 29th November. The website hasn't been updated for a while with only the guest book providing the occasional informative piece of info in between the arguing and mindless banter! I'm not to sure what Mal's planning to do next but I'm fairly sure he won't be inactive for to long, knowing Mal he's already up to something as I write this.
www.Derbyjam.co.uk RIP.
