SNICKERS‚ GAME ON‚ BEST TRICK

Coming to a park near…

"SNICKERS continue to push things forward in the skate & BMX scene with a series of national Best Trick events coming to a location near you. The second event will kick off on the 30th May at Rampworx, Liverpool and continuing nationwide, SNICKERS GAME ON will hold and sponsor a best trick event.

This is an opportunity for all the riders to try their best tricks in a jam format that normally lasts about 30–45 minutes. The best trick is always the most crowd pleasing and dynamic of any event.

Riders get countless attempts to try the biggest and hardest of tricks within the time limit and those that pull them off to the crowd and judges satisfaction take home the cash.

It is a very simple concept yet enables riders to push themselves outside the normal limitations of competition structure.

SNICKERS GAME ON Best Trick wants you to get involved. Do you fancy your chances of winning up to £300 prize money?

Or do you want to set up a SNICKERS GAME ON BEST TRICK event at your local park?"

Bristol Scene Check

We are currently trying to piece together a Bristol Scene check article that seems to be plagued by bad luck. As mentioned the other day on the TWOAND8 site, Craig Stevens took a KO attempting a wallride to whip. Another trip courtesy of the NHS after over cooking a line from the volcano into the bowls at St Georges skatepark.

Luckily he was alright and will no doubt be leading the way at the Acamedy on Friday night. Take it easy fella.

Jams Galore

It’s looking like this year is going overloaded with jams and events this summer. Here’s a couple more for the diary.

TWOAND8 Worcester Jam
It’s looking likely that this years jam at Worcester will be on the 21st / 22nd of August. It’s the 10th anniversary of the park, so this year will be a 2 day event. More bands, a loose plan and plenty of Worcester night life. I’m sure Graeme Hardie will be into that.

Driffield Jam Update - Via Email

On the Sunday 23rd of May theres gonna be an opening jam at Driffield
Skatepark.

Phold has been given the grand job of sorting it out so hopefully it should
go to plan. Seventies, Eastpak, Ride have chipped in with prizes including a
frame and a load of other goodies and we are waiting to hear from a few
other companies for freebies / prizes etc.

Heres the details

"Jam format obviously (same as backyard etc etc, you know the score)

2 groups - beginner and amateur, no age groups cos shredders are bloody young these days!

The riders get to choose who deserves prizes etc by voting and stuff, that way the riders get to choose who they thought won which makes sense.

The park is just round the corner from the train station and is shit-hot. it has a massive wallride, and all the usual stuff with a load of unique lines
and is real fun to ride and should make for a good day out. So yeah, tell all your mates to get themselves down. bring your bike (or beer) and have a
laugh.

There'll probably be a load of stuff for sale so bring your wallet too.

For detaisl mail me or mail Egg : alex@phold.com"

Distinct lack of up-dates
Sorry about the lack of new things to read, things at RandomBMX have been a little slow recently due to the following (believe what you want):

Web space available has reached maximum.
The above problem should be sorted in the near future.
The problem should be sorted in the near to medium future.
The above problem should get sorted at some point.

Kung's scanner is still having trouble acclimatising to life in Bristol therefore no new photo's.
Again, The above problem should be blah, blah, blah...

We've had fuck all to write about.

We're both mentally scarred after a near head on with a farmer in his 4x4 whilst I was gunning it down single track lane. Vauxhall people carriers might be shit but they can launch up grass verges without to much trouble. Get one only if you enjoy driving on grass verges.

Had a look Alcester spine / mini the other night, although some of the holes in the ramp are probably just a bit smaller than the hole which sunk the Titanic. I'm happy to report that it can still be ridden, If you do decide to have a ride there, be prepared to be watched by some of the most in-bred people imaginable, they won't give you any hassle but something to keep in mind is that Alcester had the honor of having more bastard children than any other town in the UK.

In other strange redneck related news. Coventry now has an outdoor cement park not to far from Ride Skateshop and the indoor park. Unfortunately Cov hasn't the friendliest of reputations ( see previous Cov Backyard articles), so when the none riding / skating locals take offence to something it could generally be regarded as a possible problem. From what I've heard the local kids have taken to throwing rocks, stones, hamsters at anyone using the park. This act seems to be encouraged by the parents of the kids who have also taken to joining them in the new redneck sport of 'Stone the Extreme Sport Fanatics' I don't know how bad things are down there but just be weary In case it ends up being like Woolwich. See below report from Tom James.

Random's midland twin site BCBMX is no more. Here's the crack, blackcountrybmx.com will soon be no more, BUT a new improved site will be up which will be called www.bcbmx.co.uk. As soon as the bcbmx.co.uk shit is together I'll let you know and you can start going there instead, confusing but the plans should make it worthwhile........

That's it for now. come back soon.
