Hello all, this was meant to be a short message to all of you thinking of traveling with a 20" cycle, or an emo hair cut or something like that.
Have you ever tried traveling without the bike? As an individual. Without anything to separate you from the next man? iPods aloud. It´s a funny experience and this is the sight from from own two poor vision.
All was going well, I had eaten, drank, and read and observed. Nothing worth reciting so I move on.
Next bar. Not enoghh money to buy a pint so I settle for half a Guiness. Sitting there listening to the various UK accents, (I am abroad) I decide not not to partake. Conversations about film. About special effects. etc...
Imagine the scene. Sat in a foreign bar and someone mentions a subject you can relate to. What do you do? Sit there and ignore them or partake in conversation. Remember your stone broke - less than 1 Euro to your name. So I trot over thinking the man´s from Ireland - no he´s mixed Euro race but excellent English.
Around this time I´m offered a drink. Pint Guiness + double gin. (try it). I eventually accepted. I felt like a prostitute. No company and a lonely piss head offers me a drink. I feel feel piss poor.
We chew the cud, more Guiness more gin (I´m broke)and we start takling proper.
He´s a coke fiend. Hs eyes give the game away at the first encounter. And he´s proper fucked up.
Why do I find these people or do I? Are they just out there waiting to be found?
Do theyt need finding? or is this us? A renegade crew of people who are desparate to confirm to something, or are we the total opposite.
Personally I couldn´t give a fuck. I spent an hour (maybe two) advising a coke fiend that in the grand scheme it´s not worth shit. Will he pack up - NO!, will he think - maybe. Will I feel good - FUCK YEAH. I spent the evening with someone who could have got me drunk at his expense.
If that really was the case would I be sat here writing now?
