Ugly random Trails

I've had this little spot that i started with my brother for about 6 years now. Its always been pretty ropey, being at the side of a rail way cutting with loads of rubble pebbles and other assorted crap dumped there over the years, its shabby to build with at the best of times in south london with all the sand. When Kung and Adi moved near by and heard of them they came down daily and gave a hand digging, and showed me that packing in shuld be done with a spade and not just my boots and riding them in. Since Kungs left for Bristol with his magic spade they've been slowly crumbling, dispite my efforts, no thanks to the locals (non riding type) kicking them in whenever i get it running good. This little warm spell has brought a few new faces to the trails, other than Alex who actually put his face to them pretty hard yesterday. It's been good motivation to see others fighting to ride stuff i've ridden soo many times i almost got bored of it, and to be riding the "big" set well is the best feeling. I'm probebly being a bit hasty riding them so hard this early in the year as come the summer they turn into a full on dustbowl if they're not kept fresh, hopefully i'll get the street and ramp afficionados who've been coming down to learn the tricks of the trade and maybe i'll learn some more along the way.

St George Skatepark

Saw Craig Reynolds cruising on his yellow and black striped racer yesterday and he mentioned the work planned for St George skatepark. Originally they were going for a concrete mini ramp but they've decided now on adding a quarter pipe, vert wall, grind ledge, some rails and a volcano. Should be done around July time. He's also been working on issue 2 of his zine, Body English which should be ready in the next few weeks.
Stu Clark, table 360 at Alianos on Saturday, small photo because I know he won't be liking it! (not saying you're fussy when it comes to photos Stu!)

I called in at Uptons finest trails yesterday to see what was going on. Jay, Scott and Muzza were busy building new lines and making stuff bigger. The trails were dry as a bone and the sprinkler was out already. Even the haggered looking spine ramp is getting treated to some new ply.

WORCESTER TRIBUTE JAM

Andy Boaz from Worcester Skatepark got in touch to pass on the news that his brother Tim sadly passed away on monday (14th March) as a result of a snowboarding accident. Andy and Eggy are putting on a Jam at the Worcester Skatepark this Saturday (19th March) to say goodbye and pay tribute to Tim. It would be great if as many people as possible could go and have fun at the park, I'm sure its what Tim would want. Worcester Skatepark is at the Worcester Youth Centre opposite the Jaguar Garage on City Walls Road, Worcester (5min from the train station). 12ish onward. There are plenty of pic of the park on this site if you wanna check out whats there (Its just had a revamp). - All the best to Tim, Andy, his family and friends.

He's looking for £140 or nearest offer for the pair which are about 6months old.

Trails in Henley

Got an email of George Salmond with a bit of an update on the trail situation down there...

Since the trails got ploughed, just as they were finished ready for the summer with another 3 lines added, there is currently no where to ride, although a few of the locals have found a new spot.

However there is a meeting today with the Knowlhill Trust who own the woods, so they may get the land back as almost all residents are in support.

Henley have also given some land and dirt in a field near Georges house. The dirt isn't that good but the plan is to make a massive roll in with it and dig into the ground to get the good mud.

Street Furniture
A few new photos added to the street furniture gallery, usual place...
