Visual Update

Flyer for Liam and Paul's show on the 9th of may at bar Ginglik in shepards bush.

Neighbourhood Bandits

Paul Dog had a similar "event" to this a little while back, i did'nt make it but i recon i'll try a little harder this time round. Liam and paul are showing their bmx influenced artwork alongside music from Mook and Paul Dog, so its gonna be a bit of an old stockwell local run event so it should be pretty good. Sounds like there's gona be some conga drummers and more. So try to make it along if you can, should be something a little different by the sounds of it!.
Ps. Its on the 9th of may not march as it said above.

Photo update

Photos from the Ambience Flat jam just added to the galleries.

New Brum BMX website and shite.

Not much going in the midlands area, not for me anyway. Still let see if I can muster something which'll be slightly more interesting than the late Popes half eaten Easter egg.
Sandhills have had a facelift over the winter and early spring period (anybody watching plastic surgery live probably wouldn't have seen these particular modifications).
Belton trials have also been touched up although from what I can gather the field section having had more sets added is not quite ready yet.
S-town park (Ramparts) has had a few changes, flat banks, possibly some sort of jumpy thingy although by the looks of things Lois is still considered a cow. Bless her, she tries to provide a skate park for the kids and all she gets is a good old English media type slating. You can bet the British Lawn Tennis Association wouldn't treat her the same if she provided tennis courts!
There's been some changes to park and staff at Epic, some good, some bad. I won't comment but once you see or hear things for yourself you can decide which is which.
Onto this new website, it's at www.BMXiscool.5u.com and seriously, it's Da Bom. If you check the gallery you might spy a few shots which may have been pinched from other sites. Not sure how copywrite affects web sites but I'm sure the owner of this one going to be interested!

Haro UK Tour

Bart De Jong sent me some photos and words from the Haro Tour the took place leading up to the Bike Show. To see / read more, CLICK HERE

Bike Found
Good news about the missing bike from the other day, luckily his mate was going out for a meal with his parents and spotted some guy riding it. They stopped the car got out and managed to take it back.

Street furnature

I've updated the street furnature gallery with 4 new finds. (Media > Street Furniture > Follow the link at the top of the page)

We got it all up and running again on satuday

St joes

After i found that our local spot had been hacked at by someone who'd found my spade. I went down on satuday morning to begin repairing all the damage they'd done. Soon enough Mark turned up with a new £20 spade he'd just bought to help me out and then Alex arrived. So by about 5.00pm we had it all looking good, cheers lads. Lets do it again next satuday and get some of these new lines built. I treid to put up the photo of them all destroyed but blogger do'snt like that pic so all you get is them looking healthy, leaves coming out on the tree's an all, not long untill we get plunged into darkness down there and no rain can get through!.

Derby Storm Closing

I've heard of a few different people that Derby Storm Skatepark is to be closing down. I first heard it was to be in 3-4 weeks but now it is due to close around June.

Old School

Almost forgot to add that there is an old school re-union thing at Crawley today with people such as Pepi, Mike Canning, Carlo, Howard Radcliffe, Dean Rush, and Billy Stupple (amongst others).
What with work, digging, riding and hospital visits it hasn't left too much time for the site and stuff like that. I should add sleep to the list too, cause soon it will probably seem like this best thing ever.

Well if she gets one thing from me, it's time keeping, late as usual...

Unkle Scott is still holding out for a nephew and new riding buddy, but it wasn't to be this time.

GBH Ramps
A couple of photos of GBH's latest skatepark, in Coxhoe, where ever that is.

Lazy theiving ebayers

I just found someone selling a few t-shirts on ebay with designs that Adi had done for Two&8 re labeled as their own. If your gonna sell dodgy shirts on ebay at least bother to make up your own design you idiots. If anyone can mess with their bids, do so. The suspect "company" is called triple bmx. DO NOT buy any of their stuff and put out the word to kids who you think might buy this kinda stuff. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=22677&item=7148338839&rd=1

Shook winteractive Trailer

NASS
If you want to know the low down for this years NASS events, click here for the press release. Personally I cant wait for Team MAD...

"MTB Trials; Team MAD are back with a vengeance, their 5th year of back-breaking ‘Mountain Arial Displays’"
Redditch Skatepark
The repairs to the large street course are now complete and the park is open over the Easter school holidays from 1pm till 6pm at the moment and the cost is £3.00 all, day donation towards running costs. The opening hours will be increased when more volunteers in place to staff the park.

Eggy and Martin from Worcester Ramps have been repairing the ramps. The repairs will consist of resurfacing decks and riding surfaces. Structure repairs to the large quarters and a new safety barrier on top of the wall ride. The grind box has been removed from the driveway opening a new line between the hip on the bowl and the hipped quarters, also creating new possibilities with the driveway.

Bike Show
Even if you went to the bike show, did you actually see any of the street and spine riding? Doubt it, the roof was so low, all you could see from the seating was aboout 2foot above the deck of the ramps.

It's not a lot of peoples cup of tea but if you want to see what kind of riding level the compers are at these days, it's the place to be. Probably some of the things that stood out most were:

Scotty Cranmer: Double whip backflip, good looking front flips but the turndown front flip was kept in the bag.
Nyquist: Ridiculous height over the spine, step thru nothing barspin.
Alistair Whitton: Flipwhips, double whips, downside 360 whip, massive airs etc.
Ryan Guettler: Endless back to back spine ramp runs, 720 over spine, 540's both ways, whips, flairs etc fired out one after another.
Craig Stevens: Doing it for Bristol, qualified 3rd in spine and some of the best lookbacks around.
Corey Bohan: Magazine photos just don't do any justice to riding that stylish.
Jamie Bestwick: Always the best thing to watch at the bike show, this time with a massive 900.

Even photographers are pushing the limits these days, Ricki Adams took the impact of a tailwhip tyre tap straight to the face causing a big old gash to the chin from the Nikon and Kay Clauberg took a bailed bike to the top of the head, which was nicely concealed by a massive plaster.

Local Jams
A bit of info I received on a couple more jams for this years schedule.
