Vigilante Paul revover's nicked bike

On Saturday morning at the Finsbury park bowls, I noticed a teenage ratkid who turned up on a pretty decent bike. No big deal I thought, as I've ridden with/seen quite a few decent riders who look like that. But he was very squirrelly on it, couldn't 180 in the bowl, let alone air it. And this bike looked good, LHD micro gearing, two pegs (on the right) brakeless, primo cranks, odyssey cassette etc etc...

I thought it was Cucumber John's bike that was lifted from Benson's studio, but it's not. I asked him where he got it from. He said '20 quid off a mate down Angel way' which eventually turned into 'my cousin', and finally, 'my dad bought it for me from his cousin'… Blatantly nicked. I called Cucumber and left a message. I told the kid it was my mates bike and 'he'd give you a right kicking' if he saw him on it. I offered to buy it off him for 30 quid, then thought that'd just be encouraging kids to nick bikes, so I told him 'look pal, I'm not gonna fight you for it, but I know that's my mates bike, I've called him and if he gets here or ever see's you on it, he'll fucking cripple you, you get me?' (or words to that effect).

So he then gives me the bike and say's he doesn’t want any trouble, gets on his mates mtb and rides off! By now quite a few of the local skaters are saying 'I knew that bike was jacked man!' etc etc. So I leave the park.

So now I've got some shredders bike. From the dings and dents I'm guessing the original owner can ride pretty well. So does the following sound familiar to anyone's nicked bike?

Black frame
Primo cranks (LHD)
Oddy cassette/oddy front hub
Grey two piece bars
Possibly Fit forks, could be Pitchforks
Oddy JC pedals (black)
Blue grips
No brakes
Primo wall and Taj Primo Pro tyres.

I'll give it to whoever can prove it’s theirs. Spread the word please!

Cheers - Paul

Right so get in contact and have your distinquishing marks ready to identify the bike as yours (no point trying it), is this bike the kids who came by my bro's shop after being jumped for his bike in Kennington?.email paul.lumsden@bbc.co.uk

UNREAL SK8 PARK TWO DAY JAM

Snickers Best Trick

Following on from the success of previous years, SNICKERS®? is bringing back its Best Trick competition activity at local skate and BMX events across the UK. It’s an initiative where everyone’s a winner. We will reward those that are laying down the tricks regardless of their ability. This means that the 10 year old who drops in for the first time is just as likely to get a share as the pro who is 10ft out the top of a vert ramp.

Last summer, over 20 Snickers Best Tricks took place around the UK at events. This year, Snickers has a larger stash of cash to give away and is committed to making even more of these competitions happen.

The Snickers Best Trick is an opportunity for riders to throw their best moves in a 30–45 minute jam session. Riders get countless attempts to try their biggest and hardest tricks within the time limit, and those that manage to pull them off to the crowd and judges’ satisfaction take home cash. Sweet! The best trick is always the most crowd pleasing and dynamic of any event: a very simple concept that enables riders to push themselves outside the normal limits of competition structure.

Look out for forthcoming Snickers events coming to your area soon. Also, watch out for details of unscheduled guest appearances from Snickers riders.

17th June - Concrete Carnage, ROM skatepark, Hornchurch
8th - 9th July - Benfleet Summer Jam, Legacy XS, Benfleet
26th - 27th August - Concrete Carnival, Penzance
21st - 22nd October - War of the Roses, Interact skatepark, Burnley

Kings of Brum Street Jam - 24/26 June.

Here's an update on next weekend's Kings of Brum - hopefully it will answer
some of the questions that have come up ...

- teams can be of 2, 3, or 4 riders. Your choice.
- Each team must have a filmer
- You don't need a car, but teams that have one will give themselves a wider
choice of spots. Saying that most spots are within riding distance of Epic.
- Allnight Jam on Saturday night starts at 7pm and doesn't really finish -
we will start the comp at 8.30am! teams will set off in groups, at 15 min
intervals between 8.30am and 11.30am.
- The spot list is complete with 20 spots - thanks to Mavis. He's got most
things from the well known to the ridiculous. If anyone knows a roof gap or
tree ride, please let Mavis know.
- We will be posting the list of spots in the park and on our website at
10pm Saturday night. The points values for each will be given to each team
when they start riding on Sunday morning.
- We will be "customising" a selection of spots (adding bits here and there)
- if anyone has any ideas on a spot that could be so much better with just a
little something added on, let me or Mavis know.
- each team is advised to use an AtoZ
- we are looking for 5 judges who will need to view the films from several
teams and mark them. Anyone who can do this should give me a call (or email)
on 0121 442 2425. All judges will get free food, free weeks pass and a pint
of their choice!

The costs will be £5 per person for the allnight jam and then £10 per team
for the comp on Sunday.
The allnight jam should be especially good - there's also an allnight club
session going on in the bar ... Gonzo Rides again with Bedrock ... one of
London's top club nights for Electro, dirty funky, break beats (whatever
that means) will be at Epic. So bring your girlfriends, wives or even your
mum. If you don't have any of these, don't worry ... its one of those rare
occassions when lots of scantilly clad females will be in a skate park
looking for adventure!

Ocean Fest

This weekend was alright. Ocean fest didnt turn out to be what i thought it would. i really like the idea of the event. i think the fact that there was no surf kinda put a dent in the event. i was expecting there to be a huge spine mini like last year but there wasnt. we spent most of the time in woolacomb. we got a parking ticket off the biggest twat of a trafic wardon. he was well rude and he looked about 15 riding around on his bike.
last night in the field next to are camp site was a rave. i dont no if it was legit but it was pretty cool. i am still trying to figure it out. i think we were the only people who new if we were coming or going. some strange ones there. this one guy, was wearing a trunk over his nose, with a weird hat sun glasses and blowing bubbles. there was also this guy who was amazing at juggaling.

went in to a surf shop today in woolacomb and they had a photographic gallery at the bottom of the shop. here is the link some real good work in there and not badly priced so go check it out

Back streets back

The Us profile team came over for some riding and the Jam at sittingbourne. (look for a ting on the Profile Jam in Ride soon) They did'nt have alot of luck with all the rain so the backstreet boys on some mtv wanna be channel made up for that. Snuck in a friday night session at southy. The only riding shot i got was of Pinky Mike 180ing the rail. Went to plystn or (bay66 offically) the following tuesday and got a very drunk Nick from Halfpipe, to snort a large line of chunky pepper. He was in pain so Wobblers said salt was the antidote so a huge line of that went in there too, and some ketchup for good mesure cos he dos'nt like HP. Went out riding later that week with Marv, Gay dave n Tom who'd come down from bristol for the weekend. Dave got the latimer rail done so I put my wheel the otherside and droppped onto my already mangled wrist just to one up him. I was lucky. Then came the 6.6.06 right?. Only notible things were i managed to do a perfect stalled opposite tyretap ona a 2" round rail by accident and Jenkins did an oppisite curved wall to alleyoop 180 by catching his front tyre quite flukey maybe. Joe did weird ghost and how close to the wall can you start, curved walls and still blasting huge tables/180s above the wall. Toodaloo

06/06/06

rode taunton after tiverton. ron wiseley from harry potter turned up.
the 1/4 is getting old there now. maybe its time for taunton to make the mega expensive concrete park that was planned a few years ago.

after going to a skate park meeting a few weaks back for my local park i expected some changes. but so far nothing has been done. still glass on the floor and slippy ramps, when will councils ever learn. some more taunton photos when i finish the film.

bad vibes

Tiverton has a good park. mini ramp, street course and a cool volcano with a wall ride just after. deff worth a look in.

Backyard Jam

Backyard Qualifiers Sunday June 4th Liverpool Rampworx.

I'm taking it that most of you reading this have probably ridden, been to or at least heard of the Backyard Jam. If you haven't what the hell is wrong with you?!?! Go to www.backyardjam.com and sort yourself out!

For the rest of you the waiting is over, the 2006 Backyard Jam dates have been set. Due to the increasingly high number of riders we turn away we have made a few changes.

For the first time the Backyard Jam will have two expert classes; under 14 and over 14, there are also more chances to qualify meaning more riders from more areas can take part. Sunday June 4th at Liverpool Rampworx will see the birth of a series of expert qualifiers located around the UK to help extract the finest riders to compete in the Backyard Jam. This helps ensure less disappointed riders as previously caused by limiting registration numbers and location to one single event.

Entry is a mere £10 and the top 15 riders (10 over 14 and 5 under 14) will go on to compete in Expert at the Backyard Jam at Ice Sheffield on the 27th-29th October 2006. You can enter as many events as you like so if you don't qualify the first time you can try again.

The only way you will be able to ride Expert at Sheffield is to qualify so get yourself and your bike to Rampworx in Liverpool on Sunday June 4th 2006 for round one.

To register you will need to go here rider form to download a form, or call Rachael on 0845 310 3660.

There will be a limited number of spectator places available on the door priced at £5. The number of places is dependant on the number of riders competing and the legal capacity of Rampworx.

If you haven't checked out Rampworx park yet you can get a glimpse at www.rampworx.com.

How to find Rampworx. (Map)

If you can't make it to Rampworx don't panic you still have 3 other chances to qualify at the following parks:

Sunday July 16th 2006 Round 2 Y2SK8 Peterborough
Sunday August 27th 2006 Round 3 Motion Ramp Park Bristol
Sunday September 17th 2006 Round 4 Unit 23 Scotland
To register you will need to go to download a form here , or call Rachael on 0845 310 3660.
