TWO&8 Jam.

The date has been set, the skate park is being swept, the trails are being groomed and the bands have been booked. TWOAND8 presents the 2007 Worcester BMX Stephen Murray Jam. This is going to be the biggest BMX jam in the UK for the summer. TWOAND8 is taking BMX back to its roots! No big prize money, no strict TV schedule, back to why we all started riding our bikes... For fun!

This jam is to raise money for The Stephen Murray Family Fund. After a tragic crash at the Baltimore Dew Tour June 2007, Stephen has been left with serious injuries to his spinal cord and vertebrae. The fund has been set up to raise money to support Stephen in his long and on-going rehabilitation, as well as helping to look after his family.

His brother Martin Murray and many close friends are tirelessly working to put together an amazing weekend.

This is a new venue and format for the TWOAND Jam spread over 2 days. Day 1 is going to be at Perdiswell concrete park, this is going to be the first time this park has seen a BMX event. Day 2 is going to be at the infamous Alianos Trails, which are usually invite only. However for 1 day it's going to be open to everyone!

So what you waiting for? Get a crew together and head to Worcester on 25th & 26th August, Bank Holiday weekend... Stay strong.

Birminghams Wooden Jungle

I've ridden this place for well over half my life, if you know my age then you can appreciate thats quite a while. In all this time I never looked close enough to notice natures part in producing this part of the city's concrete jungle.

Myspace advertising on a budget.

Get well soon Mark Webb

Still more to come.

Simpel Session Summer Splash on 25th August

Simpel Session summer jam. Some info from Risto - "It's in Tallinn city center on 25th of August 2007. The location is great, brand new Wessel park is shaping up specially for the event and all the girls wear skirts and bikinis. Well, hehe. But back to the point - if anyone has been looking for a reason to visit Estonia in the good weather
period then there you have it. There's a lot of good street to ride here as well.

Check updates and get in touch with us - http://www.session.ee

Last year we did smaller summer pretour events in three cities but we haven't done a bigger summer contest in 4 years. It's gonna be fun!"

NASS 07

Riding Wise NASS wasnt that bad. It was good to see ben wallace ride and of course Daneil Dhers. Scott Hamlin was sending the front flips and to be honest they were pretty rad i am pretty sure he was the only dude doing them over that box.

There was quite a lot of problems. They only had 53 security for the whole event. This was a event that was meant to have around 40,000 people staying there. i think they only had around 8,000 maybe 10 but still 53 guards is nothing. i am pretty sure they had a few trucks with what? 6 in each? People got rowdy but good times were had. i spent the night in the car 2 nights in a row and to be honest it was so good.

It doesnt look like it will not be on next year from what i have heard. No body died although there are rumors saying they did. the guy at the burger van is in a bad way but not dead... Crazy to think that a bmx/skate/fmx/ sports event would attract a huge group of tossers. But i saw some good riding and saw a lot of people i havnt seen for ages. Ben Hennon was sending the spine and the jump box. I am pretty sure there is some footage on freecaster so go check it out.

BMX MASTERS

I am going to sort all the NASS photos first then i will get the bmx masters photos up. what a amazing weekend. some good riding some good times.

Epic News

I just had an email from Mark at www.radbmx.co.uk, who's done a bit of poking around to find out whats going on with Epic.

According to Debbie at the park, the climbing wall side of the business is going to extend all the way down to where the vert is now, they plan on moving the vert, the bowl may go but there will be a foam pit. Then they will rearrange the rest of the park to make better use of the space.

The bar has gone (dismantled by the previous owners) and there won't be one put back but the refreshment facility will be upgraded and stock more stuff like sports drinks,Relentless etc .

Also the opening times and prices have now changed check out the start of their new site with the latest ones. http://www.creationskatepark.co.uk/

Relentless Tour - From press release

Last week saw The 'Relentless No Half Measures BMX Tour' stop off at some of the most impressive parks in the country to inspire and encourage local fans (as well as each other). From the ball pits of Corby to the Spines of NASS, the Relentless message was taken to the masses, taking in blistering skills and taking out a couple of teeth along the way.

After a week spent honing their skills in London, Bournemouth and Somerset, the Relentless team were looking to take it to the next level - perfecting Zakflips and high jumps along the way. Friday even saw a satellite team of riders head back north to Adrenaline Alley for an impromptu practice session to crack tricks for the following day at NASS. The trip certainly did the trick, with Relentless’ own Mark Webb continuing his successful streak by winning the Braun Cruzer Tour and coming third in the Street Qualifier at NASS on Saturday (hot off the back off his recent qualification for the X Games later this summer!). The other riders also celebrated blazing results with Phil Aller in particular qualifying for the Street event and finishing a respectable 6th in the Braun Cruzer, while Shaun Eglington delivered his usual Relentless performance in the half pipe and even turned his hand successfully to the Street Qualifier.

Sunday saw Webby claim victory again - look out for him as he drives past/over you in his flash new car - the prize for winning the Braun Cruze! To prove that mastering your art is not all plain sailing though, spare a thought for Kyle Blake who took to the spines and broke his foot landing a trick – 'It’s the pressure, it gets to you!' he told us.

Epic R.I.P.

A big thanks to everyone who came to the Shit Weather Jam at Epic last Thursday night. You may not have known at the time but the real reason for the jam was just to try and get everyone back together for what could have been one of the last ever sessions at the park. As of Friday 6th July Epic run by the Marsden family is no more. Keith and everyone else involved put up quite a fight to keep the park open but unfortunately there's only so much you can do and when many things battle against you, you just have to call it a day. As recently described by Keith "it's like a cancer patient sitting in hospital waiting for the inevitable".

However at the moment all is not quite lost. The guys that run the climbing wall have been forced by the landlord to take over the running of the park. At the moment the park is still open but for how much longer is a question only time can answer.

New opening hours. Mon - Fri. 10am - 1-pm. Sat - Sun. 10 - 7pm.

A massive thanks to Keith for keeping the place open for so long, if you want to thank him in person, he can be found running the 'Prince of Wales' pub about 1/4 mile up the road in Moseley village.

Time to put pen to paper

Russell Merry of Hot Wheels, the BMX and women's bikes distributor, has created a Gov.uk petition asking for the prime minister to shelve the 14 per cent import duty on bicycles. Merry's petition says: "Almost all bicycles sold in the UK are manufactured in the Far East. UK manufacturing on any large scale ended some time ago." Bicycles are subject to an import duty of 14% which, when compared to consumer electronics rates of near zero, is bonkers.

"We have childhood obesity issues, congestion, global warming and an aging population that needs exercise - the bicycle has a role to play in the resolution of all these issues. It seems crazy that the tax regime encourages a kid to sit in front of a bicycle extreme sports computer game rather than go out and ride his bike. My petition is to raise awareness of this anomaly and to encourage politicians at the highest level to start the necessary trade talks to abolish duty on a product that improves the health of the nation, helps lower emissions and is an all round benefit to society."

Cheaper bikes could be here

The Shovelload

There used to exist a website called theshovelload. It shut down a year or so ago, recently it was brought back but they completely forgot to tell anyone. So...

There's maybe prizes (but don't bank on it), food, beer, hard liquor and hopefully smiley faces.

Try and make it afterall, what else is there to do on a wet mid week evening.

See you Thursday.

I havnt taken any bmx photos for a while. Nass this weekend then The MASTERS in germany after.
