Redditch Relax Jam 19 9 04

Everyone at Redditch wheels project would like to say thank you for all everyone’s help with a successful event. It was a team effort by all involved. Big thank you to the bands Drunk Plumber and My Girl Sleeps and to all the sponsors who ensured everyone went away with something and for you if you made it.

I would have liked to give you a rundown of places etc but I can’t make head or tail of the judging sheets, if anyone can remember the placements please email me info@redditchskatepark.co.uk . The snickers best trick was won by Lance who got £100 and everyone else won at least a tenner in the runner up best table and turn down. Big thanks to Redditch Borough Council who put up the funding for the new Skatelite surface on the Spine / mini and vert. Feedback so far is its very fast and grippy and a major improvement.

Redditch Relax Jam
Redditch Skatepark
19th September 2004 12pm

To those of you not familiar with this event this is our largest BMX event of the year, over the Relax BMX Jams four year history has seen some of the UK and worlds top pro riders at the park and has featured on the Extreme Channel, Ride magazine and BMX Rider. The Relax Jam is a great way for novice riders to gain experience of riding a BMX comp and see the pros in action who always find new ways of riding and lines around the park.

The idea of this event is to enjoy the day and not to take things too seriously as the summer draws to a close. You can ride the park if you want or enter the fun comps. There will be two live bands playing Drunk Plumber and My Girl Sleeps winners of ITVs Music Uncovered and prize flowing throughout the day

The Jam may or may not go something like this
Spine -Stag and Stallion groups
Vert - Highest Air
Live bands
Street –Stag and Stallion groups
Jump box all in £300 Snickers best trick

The spine and vert will be resurfaced in Skatelite the week before if we can get into gear we’ll update you on this when work starts and keep you posted.

We would like to thank the sponsors for the Relax Jam. Odyssey, Snickers, Eastpak, Profile, 2&8, Local, Stoked, Ride, Bike Hut, BMX Rider, Suspect Sports and the Extreme Sports Channel.

Starts at 12pm and the entry fee is £6 all proceeds go to the running costs of the park. see you there
