Open evening round up

Just want to say thank you for everyone who turned up for the open evening. It went down a treat with everyone especially the VIP’s who seemed most impressed with us. Big thank you to everyone such as the local riders and skaters. It started off with the BMX riders doing demos on the street course, then spine, vert and beginner course. We had a visit to the Redditch Premiers BMX club promo stand to enlighten everyone about the new BMX racetrack project. To finish off we handed over to the youngsters for the open ceremony of the new micro ramp dedicated to Tom Bourne the local skater who sadly passed away but kindly donated funds to our charity where a plaque is placed This should all help us be recognised with our future projects amongst those with influence many who have already placed there support. Big thanks everyone for a great evening.

FREE Open evening Thursday 27th July 06 from 5pm WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

FREE ENTRY – FREE BUFFET – BMX and SKATE DEMOS
We need as many skaters and riders down at the skatepark for a free open evening Thursday 27th July 06 from 5pm. We have the lord mayor; key council officers, councillors and youth work agencies in attendance as well as the general public. The idea is to show them what we have here and what skating and BMX is all about and to recognise the hard work of the charity and the achievement we have made here. This will help us in the future gain support when it comes to developing the new projects we have in the pipeline such as redeveloping the old BMX track into a potential Olympic training facility, an indoor skatepark and an outdoor Concrete Bowl Park with street plaza, at the same time also helping generally to raise our profile.

There will be a guided tour of the skatepark featuring amazing displays which you can take part in. You will have a chance to see the new BMX track redevelopment project at the Redditch Premiers BMX club stand. There will be a plaque placed and a short ceremony in memory local skater the late Thomas Bourne who kindly left a donation to the skatepark. The Lord Mayor Cllr Mike Chalk will perform the opening ceremony of our latest ramp project funded by the Local Network Fund. To finish off you will be able to enjoy the buffet and the rest of the evening.

Fire at skatepark 24th 6 06

Bad news couple of weeks back there was an arson attack on a Saturday night and the volcano and joining landing ramp were burnt completely down. None the less good news we are covered by insurance and are making a claim and it should be rebuilt better than ever. Thanks to all our guys for the support in cleaning the place up. We are still open a usual.
