another one down on the tally
Yeah its 2009.My mum put up a collage of embarrasing old family photo’s for the christmas period. Here’s me on my old putch with a sweet presstuded crosbrace pad and some great shorts. Somethings never change.
I had an awesome new years starting with the new pa/catty woods dvd coming through the letter box. I watched about 10 minutes of it and had to go riding in the 2 degree weather on the frozen jumps but no one was on it so we started drinking a bit too early, watching the vid 4 or so times whilst bouncing around town. Definitely got the party started. It came with a note that makes it sound like buying it was a charitable act but far from it. Proper party soundtrack, summer fun, a dedicated crew of people making incredible things out of mud and a zipline, all filmed with love. POV
I woke up in an unfamiliar living room wrapped in one of their curtains and a huge hole burnt out of my beard then rode some private ply at dusk, still real drunk, on a borrowed bike.
Cheers Halls.
Here’s a little vid i made wasting no footage of a daytrip i made with Al, Belcher, Ted ,and Juliet out to dagenham racetrack. 2hours there and back for 45 mins there in wind and 3degC. Pooped.
The jumps are coming along nicely. New recruits and new lines popping up.
Although the grrounds a bit hard right now.

Mini ramp for sale in Bristol
The owner, Simon, is off to Australia in the new year and his ramp has to go. It’s 6ft high, 20ft wide, 30ft deep (4ft flat-bottom, 4ft decks), £3k spent on materials. Its been treated several times (green) and been looked after well. Theres no damage to it and its been seated on raised foundations so there wont be any rot underneath either. Its 2 layers of ply. It has been built to be taken apart, although the ply needs to be taken off first. There is also a flat-bank and a 4ft tight quarter adjacent to the flat-bottom and a sub-box that doubles up as a wall ride/higher sub.
If anyone is seriously interested or got questions, drop us an offer at my myspace.

Informing
There are two more of these transitions adjacent to to this pair, both full of water when we were there.
Throw down the ring and use the rope for access.
If you’ve seen the new issue of Ride Magazine, you might have spotted Colums informer article. Here are a few related / leftover photos from the article.

P5 Trowbridge Terrorism Jam
Matt from Project 5 just fired over the flyer for this weekends jam at Trowbridge (1)(2) skatepark.
Motion
Motion BMX Park is closing down for the summer. This Saturday will be the session (11-6), the park will be shut from the 22nd June until the 1st October. Due to lack of riders recently, the park will be having a revamp over the summer.
Pump Track / Trails
The last time I popped down to this spot it was pretty wet but has progress loads since. The pump track section looks fun and the trails are coming on nicely around the edge of it. Chief digger, George, had a small birthday gathering down there over the weekend.
Horfield Skatepark
Finished at last, bar a few work men poking around, grinding off bits of coping. Seems alright, just a bit dusty and slippy at the moment.

New Crucial BMX Website
Crucial BMX have a new website up and running, now with a monthly web video featuring team / local riders amongst other things. Take a look…
Trowbridge skatepark
New skatepark in Trowbridge. Been meaning to go here for a few weeks now but Mr. Dave Smith beat me to it…
“Made of concrete and it’s gotta a 5ft mini with 2hips into it, little jumpbox, cool driveway, volcano type thing (trannie one side flatbank the other) with a sub block on it and a 25ft wide wall ride set up consisting of a vert wall, flatbank to wallride and a quarter with wall ride behind it.
Also there is a generation gap and a little top section too, lots to grind all around the edge of the park.
The park is located right next to the train station, when u are coming from Bristol its on your right hand side, you can throw a stone from the platform to the skatepark!”
There are some photos on the following site to get an idea of the layout:

Twilight
A few shots from Hengrove last night, Dan Sheppard.
This was so close to being a Colum Walshe free post.
Horfield - again
Went and had a look yesterday at the progress, still plenty of work to do by the looks.
BS3 GCSE
As seen in the latest issue of Ride Magazine (115). This article resulted in two visits to the camera repair shop. After zip failure on my camera bag and the camera falling out straight to the floor, new lens mounts sorted the first problem, then a 2 month stint back at Nikon for re-calibration (somehow free under warranty) sorted the out of focus problem.
