another one down on the tally
Yeah its 2009.My mum put up a collage of embarrasing old family photo’s for the christmas period. Here’s me on my old putch with a sweet presstuded crosbrace pad and some great shorts. Somethings never change.
I had an awesome new years starting with the new pa/catty woods dvd coming through the letter box. I watched about 10 minutes of it and had to go riding in the 2 degree weather on the frozen jumps but no one was on it so we started drinking a bit too early, watching the vid 4 or so times whilst bouncing around town. Definitely got the party started. It came with a note that makes it sound like buying it was a charitable act but far from it. Proper party soundtrack, summer fun, a dedicated crew of people making incredible things out of mud and a zipline, all filmed with love. POV
I woke up in an unfamiliar living room wrapped in one of their curtains and a huge hole burnt out of my beard then rode some private ply at dusk, still real drunk, on a borrowed bike.
Cheers Halls.
Here’s a little vid i made wasting no footage of a daytrip i made with Al, Belcher, Ted ,and Juliet out to dagenham racetrack. 2hours there and back for 45 mins there in wind and 3degC. Pooped.
The jumps are coming along nicely. New recruits and new lines popping up.
Although the grrounds a bit hard right now.

So you wanna be a record breaker…
I am Phil McCullough from Outline Productions and I am working on an exciting, new Saturday night prime-time entertainment show in the UK for Sky One called ‘Guinness World Records Smashed’. We are looking for BMX bikers to take part in a fun world-record attempt!
This fresh new show will have big names, exciting records and must-see TV. We are bringing back the ‘record breaking’ show in the way that ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘Gladiators’ have successfully brought back their respective genres.

re:traction
Dig issue 62 is out now and has Lino’s writeup about the 2hip uk trip from september. I missed the deadline by 2hrs apparently so my text’ll end up on the dig site at somepoint. We were at Cantelowes the other day and we were talking about whether they’d actually have printed it. I was’nt so sure and said “but what about the bit where i talk about that skatepark as though its an underage girl and we take her up the pooper”, only to turn round and see a family with a young girl of about 8 standing right behind me. The skaters opened the gate for us Peado’s to leave.
Nang is also out now with Jenkins’s sexy packaging graphics, through 4 down, a new trailer is up on Defgrip . Its worth it just for the last clip in the end titles. I wanna know what happened to all the pictures of us as kids going on the sleeve.
To square thing off i’ll end with the real news that’ll rock the bmx fraternaty to the core, i quit Madera.
i know i know im weepy too.

Save Harrow Skatepark
Please take time to fill in the petition…
It is under stood that Harrow SkatePark is to be bull dozed to build houses on but since 1976 this has been part of the history & heritage of Roller Skating, Skateboarding and BMX biking not only in Harrow but alsointernationally. This is a one of a kind skate park, the likes that can’t be seen anymore, anywhere. It is one of only a handfull of 1970’s Skate Parks left in this country, remaining.
This is part of extreme sports history and should be saved from being filled in. We would like it refurbished for future generations to use. This is a genuine one off facility and fantastic for Harrow council, London and England and that can’t be re-built. It has a great aura and atmosphere that can’t be made anywhere else. It keeps the young and old off the streets and is a great recreation space for all, participants and viewers. Harrow Skate Park is a genuine historical park and NEEDS to be preserved for the future generation.

PROFILE RACING Auctions a Historic BMX Freestyle Frame For Charity
Profile racing is proud to announce an auction of a historic BMX Freestyle frame, fork, handlebars, and padset to benefit a historic BMX rider, Jimmy Levan, who recently suffered a severe injury.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220178690054&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=012
According to Sandy Carson, Jimmy has been progressing pretty well since he came out his coma last week and sounds better each time she talks to him on the phone. He has been transferred from the ICU at Morristown Memorial Hospital to the JFK Brain Rehabilitation Institute and is up, shuffling around and piecing his memory back together. It’ll be a long road to recovery but she adds that he is lucky to be in the best rehab center for his injuries and has great friends behind him.
The bad news is that Jimmy’s insurance WILL NOT cover his rehab program which he just checked into. The estimated total of the rehab bills is at least $70,000 and that’s coming out of his family’s pocket.
To benefit Jimmy, Profile Racing is auctioning off a New, Old Stock circa 1985 Profile ProStyler Frame, Fork, Ladder Handlebars (still with original warranty card), Padset (still in original packaging), and old style Profile polished seat post clamp.
The Frame and Fork are unfinished, so you can paint them any color you wish. We recently bead-blasted the frame and fork, meaning they are completely clean and ready for paint. The Ladder handlebars are painted in the original Green color with original stickers. The pad set contains crossbar, frame, and stem pads, all with Profile ProStyler logos, and is still in the original Flite sealed plastic bag. The seatpost clamp is a Profile old-style single bolt 1″ polished aluminum seat post clamp.
These are original twenty plus year old parts that have been in our old warehouse waiting to see the light of day again. We will include a certificate of authenticity for the winner of this auction. All proceeds from this auction will go to Jimmy and his family to aid in his recovery.
Pictures are located at the ebay auction or at http://profileracing.com/news_full.php?id=636

In search of transitions
Went on a mission into Wales today to have a ride and take some photos, gambling on the weather. Well it looked good until the valleys, 5 miles from the skatepark. It was soaked, although the yocals with flat tyres were still riding, trying 360 flyouts.

The PM’s response to Save Southsea.
In short, it stays open for a while longer…
As Government, we want every community to have access to as wide a range of sports facilities as possible, and we are also keen to make sure these facilities are open to all.
The Government believe sport and exercise has considerable power to engage, unite and motivate people; it can break down barriers, promote social inclusion, and improve health. Regular participation in sport can reduce obesity and improve fitness levels and self-esteem.
The Government is unable to get involved in the decision-making processes of local authorities who are the main providers of sports and recreation facilities in their areas and are best placed to make the difficult decisions about what facilities to provide at the expense of the local taxpayer. In doing so, it is critical that local authorities plan strategically for the future, to ensure that all community needs are catered for.
However, the Government understands that the council has had a change of heart and that Southsea skatepark will now remain open throughout the winter and beyond. Government further understands that the council is committed to the future of the park and is looking at a range of options both internally and externally.
The Government would encourage the Southsea skatepark users group to continue to make its case with the council.
Stephen Murray UK Donation
This summer, Vans UK have raised a total of £3000 in the UK for Stephen Murray. Vans Europe have added to this bringing the total to $10,000, which will go towards funding Stephen’s wheelchair.
Where’s everything gone?
The site kind of looks the same, but behind the scenes it’s all different. We’re now powered by Wordpress instead of Blogger ,which is tons better.
There is also a new look on it’s way too. All the old content and news is still online, there’s a link up top to get there.
