another one down on the tally

Yeah its 2009.My mum put up a collage of embarrasing old family photo’s for the christmas period. Here’s me on my old putch with a sweet presstuded crosbrace pad and some great shorts. Somethings never change.

I had an awesome new years starting with the new pa/catty woods dvd coming through the letter box. I watched about 10 minutes of it and had to go riding in the 2 degree weather on the frozen jumps but no one was on it so we started drinking a bit too early, watching the vid 4 or so times whilst bouncing around town. Definitely got the party started. It came with a note that makes it sound like buying it was a charitable act but far from it. Proper party soundtrack, summer fun, a dedicated crew of people making incredible things out of mud and a zipline, all filmed  with love. POV

I woke up in an unfamiliar living room wrapped in one of their curtains and a huge hole burnt out of my beard then rode some private ply at dusk, still real drunk, on a borrowed bike. Cheers Halls.

Here’s a little vid i made wasting no footage of a daytrip i made with Al, Belcher, Ted ,and Juliet out to dagenham racetrack. 2hours there and back for 45 mins there in wind and 3degC. Pooped.

The jumps are coming along nicely. New recruits and new lines popping up.

Although the grrounds a bit hard right now.

Red Bull Empire of Dirt Live Webcast on Freecaster.tv

Red Bull Empire of Dirt is the the world’s first BMX dirt slopestyle contest. The course has got “every thing you could ever dream of if you’re into BMX”. If last year’s course is anything to go by the event is going to be something serious to behold. After having been totally washed out last year, riders, organizers and spectators alike have been waiting patiently to get back to the Devon Dirt to take care of some unfinished business.

At last the wait is almost over 35 world class riders from all over the globe are packing their bags while the last tones of dirt are being positioned. They’re off to Newton Abbot in Devon, UK to have an awesome weekend. Applications for tickets are already closed so if you haven’t already got one, you ain’t going. But never fear, as this event is ultra gnarly the Freecaster.tv team will, of course be there to make sure you don’t miss a dirty bit of it.

The Live Webcast will start on Saturday July 27th at 13:30 (CET) at http://www.freecaster.tv/1000002_1005186

Braun cruZer Tour / NASS

Freecaster report and coverage:

Six weeks after FISE in Montpellier the Braun cruZer Tour standings have taken an interesting turn. NASS festival in Somerset was the setting for the second stop of the Tour. A sunny sky graced the party people with its presence as the qualification round kicked off on Saturday afternoon.

Mark Webb (UK), three time Braun cruZer Tour champion had an amazing run. Still recovering from a serious back injury, his home crowd cheered him on to faster and slicker tricks. Daniel Dhers (VEN), who came first at FISE 08 impressed everyone again with his smooth style, but it was Liverpudlian, Harry Maine who created a stir with an incredible run putting himself in league with the big guns.

He basically showed everyone how the Braun Spine should be ridden, in amongst the array of amazing combinations he pulled a tailwhip to fufanu on the sub box and aired the Spine straight into a perfect 900. It was totally awesome. The results for the qualies which came in 1- Dhers 2- Webb 3- Maine, were slightly controversial. We couldn’t wait to see how these three would get on in the finals.

Sunday saw awesome runs from top riders like Tony Watkinson (UK), Chris Mahoney (UK) and Ryan Elcock (UK) but the top three slots were always going to be fought out between the qualification winners. Again Webb ripped it with tricks like a decade tire tap, 360 tailwhip to X up over the spine and an X up flair to mention but a few. Dhers was unlucky enough to get a puncture just at the end of his first run and was forced to ride on a borrowed bike. Although what he did was amazing he was hindered by an unfamiliar set up, his next run and best trick not being up to his usual perfect standard.

The judges announced Mark Webb first, with Maine in second and Dhers third. Its best out three stops wins so as it stands, Webb, Dhers and Maine are all in with a chance for Braun glory. The Braun Spine will next be at the BMX Masters in Cologne, July 04-06. Mark will be even fitter, Dhers will be eager to get back on top and Maine will have dreams of stamping his authority on the ramp he loves to ride.

The Freecaster.tv crew was at NASS to film the contests and now have the highlights online for you check out and, if you can’t make it to Germany, they will be showing highlights from the finals of the Braun cruZer Tour on their Braun cruZer Tour Pro channel http://www.freecaster.tv/1000189
